farids intro
hey all
i was just wondering if someone can help me figure out how to play the into of some farids ouds taqsiim like Taqsim from Ba`a Ayez Concert or Taqsim
Adil Rabiih i really want to learn them and i would like if someon e can make a movie for me and really show how to play and not really fast and
kind of tell me what i have to doi hope i am not asking alot. i just want to be the best one day no harm in that so all i ask is some time from you
guys.

Hey oudplayer,
I too would be interested to learn some of Farid's taqassims. For somer reason, I can never seem to land the right notes. Never! It kind of getts
frustrating and then I just give up after a few seconds becuase the taqassim is so complex. Its not so much the fast hand technique that stomps me,
its always the feel and tarab of the taqassim. Anyone familiar with arabic music will admitt that the level of tarab in Farid's taqassim is
incredible. So naturally, as a learning oud player, I am very interested in learning a farid taqassim becuase I know that anyone I play it for,
icluding myself, will be moved. I too would be very interested if someone can provide such a video or some kind of pointers.

I wish to add myself to the list of Farid diciples and I would love see someone attempt a video of Faridos taqassims.
First could someone tell us what was Farid's tuning? cuz it seems like when I play the hijaz kar parts of his taqassims they sound right when I play
along maqamworlds notes and by itself but Iam always a bit further then farid's notes. Also if we knew what type of strings he used and where he got
them from that would help many to sound like farid. Since not everybody can find or afford a Nahat. I would also love to play infront of people and
then they recognize its a farid taqassim you know.
