MAQAM of the month!!!

Hello everyone,
I was thinking.. we didnt get to hear many people play this summer and there is nothing to bring the spirits up then to play and hear eachother play. And its also a good way to a good ear to different maqamats. Hopefully everyone who on here daily will pitch in to this. Iam gona start off with something in Kurd because that is where the maqam of the month finaly stoped a while ago. Please feel free to add any comments regardless of if its good or bad. We can build on critissism. Since many already play Kurd we could also go on a tangent.... Say HIJAZ-KAR would be great to restart for this month, it would be nice to see everyone's take on it.
Cheers
Common: Revaldo, Sammy, Lee, Jameel, Brian, TP and everyone else!
Let's get this thing roling like the old times... :bounce:

I dont see how your confused...?
Iam assuming you did read the posts you put up over here. So there shouldnt be to much mystery I think Basel described how this works pretty well.I think its simple enough. Its a free forrum I think. If you wish to add to it I invite you to post something if you wish to contribute. I dont own this forrum Morcos its not up to me. It shouldnt bother you too much either since you werent on the forrums when all these posts were last active.
All I wanted to do is to kick start what was a verry nice thing. Many people tried to get The maqam of the month thread started up again like you see didnt always go too far.
So I tought since the maqam of the month thread ended on a Kurd I would do one last one and I left it open to whoever wants to continue it either with Hijaz-Kar Wich I like personaly ( Iam not saying everybody should like it) or one of there choice. And then the idea is to keep it goin untill the end of the month in that maqam with posts that showcase your interpretation of a taqassim in that maqam. The Idea is to share with and help eachother so that everyone's playing goes forward. Morcos If you have any sugestions share them with everybody maybe you can help this thread develop into the maqam of the month.

Hey Samir,

I was just thinking the other day how awesome it was when we had the maqam of the month and what do u know, I come on the forums and its here again. I'll try to contribute when I get the time to sit down and spend sometime on my oud. I wish this would pick up like it used to. It was really a great learning opportunity for all of us.

Which Maqam?

I'm not sure what maqam this little improv is in but here goes nothing... maybe we can get this going again. This is played on my Dincer oud with the tuning (low to high):

BF#Bead

Any way this my kurd.

Best wishs.
