Opinions on Sandi Ouds?
Hello Everyone,
I am just curious to hear thoughts on Sandi ouds in general. I would love to hear from current owners of Sandi ouds and especially those who have
played or own the VMIU - 500. Also, it seems even Sandi's higher level models have plastic rosettes. I guess it sort of put me off because I heard
platic rosettes are an indication of "tourist" ouds. Any thoughts on this topic. Thanks guys!....

Plastic rosettes alone are not an indication of a tourist oud. Some extremely good ouds have plastic rosettes. Similarly, the mere presence of wood
or bone rosettes does not mean that the oud is necessarily a good one.

Sandi
I have two of them and they are outstanding. One of them was used in concert by Najeeb Shaheen and the other by Necati Celik who actually picked it
out for my teacher !
The rosette are NOT soft plastic like the "tourist" ouds, they are hard "formaica", that looks and feels like horn. Check them out in Mike's oud
gallery photos.
Good luck
