Simone Shaheen & Jihad Ali Racy concert..Info about next event on October 1st Wael kakish
I went to the concert of Simone Shaheen & Jihad Ali Racy concert yesterday , and it was great. It was a plesure meeting Jonathan ,LeeVaris and one
other member that I met at the tram with his father a nice young man ,Egyptian , well if you read that please interduce your self since you nick name
is a little too lond or defecult..Sorry ,but hey guys was plesure meeting you all ,Was a lots of fun, the place was packed all tickets where sold out
.That was amaizing ,People where outside asking if you have tickets for sale ,One Guy game to Mike and said that he is # 20 on the waiting list ,that
he is not sure if he will get in.But the best thing was meeting some members .
After the concert I spoke to Jihad Ali Racy ,told him that Mr nazih Ghadban says Hello and That I spoke to Nazih today and he sends his best wishes to
Mr Ghadban, Alli salem aleh ktir ahar elsalam. Then I met Simone he new my mother and he spoke to her ,pitty that we coildnt take pictures and post
them here .I really enjoyed the concert.Wish more. But Next Saturday Wael kakish have a concert at the Sangeet school & Accidental College in Los
Angeles Border of glendale .The concert is called WEHDA WORLD MUSIC CELEBRATION WITH KAN ZAMAN & SALAAM SUITE It will be October 1st at 8 pm
tickets are $15.00 at the Thorn Hall(Occidental college) 1600 Campus Dr.Los Angeles 90041 . Hope to meet more members from here Mike's forums there .

Apparently, I'm the "nice young man" on the tram.  The concert really was
great. I wasn't able to see Lee, but I wish I had... haven't seen you in a while, man. Everyone was great to see, as usual, and to meet you, Samir.
Simon is amazing on the oud, I have to tell you all. And Jihad Racy... my goodness, an all-around great musician.
I hope to see you all in the concert coming up on the 1st!

Jonathan I will ask him when he calls me or i will call his brother Najib and find out. because Najib takes care of all his ouds.

I was able to ask Mr. Shaheen about his oud. I asked if it was a Nahat, and got a very surprising "no." He said the maker is Palestinian, if I
remember correctly. I remember his name clearly, though... Amine Haddad. Fantastic sounding oud, no? And the oud player that was playing when Simon
was on violin... was his brother! I thought that was awesome.

Did you get a good look at the bowl? Pretty stunning.
Yes, it sounded good. The whole ensemble was amplified very nicely-- a really nice, warm, natural sound in there, at least from where I was
sitting.
Never heard of the oud maker, but the oud was something special.

Oh that Amin Haddad from Haifa. I remember this guy ,And a remember that he was making some ouds at home.But the second oud that they did not use was
a Nahat for sure.
