Sabah Fakhri

What are his best CDs? I have the Nahgam Al Ams series, but would like to know of any better quality recordings. Mostly I'm interested in mawwaweel.

Did you check out the 6arab.com site?

http://6arab.com/singers-ar/north/fa5ry/index-ar.shtml

If you rest the click hand on the titles in arabic on the right... you will see them in english at the bottom left in the gray browser section.
If I may sugest a the title all the way at the bottom its called: ya mal el sham. Verry nice mawal at the begining.

Here's another site to dowload full quality MP3's for free

http://www.mazikana.com/

And finaly you can check

http://www.salmiya.net and look under songs then Arabic then sabah fakhri.
You'll get some practice for your arabic when you check that out but they have the most extensive collection of nice old songs :)

ya mal el sham is a great song. Th only album I have is the two tenors and Qantara album which is from a live concert that included Sabah el Fakhri, Wadi el Safi and Simon Shaheen.

Its a great live album though it seems as if the whole concert did not make it on cd but the classics are there and two great simon shaheen solos.
