Simon Shaheen concert in East Tennessee
All,
I just learned that Simon Shaheen will be giving a free concert at the University of Tennessee (Knoxville) Music Hall this Friday, November 11. The
concert starts at 7:30 pm. I've heard that that there will be a lecture, too; however, I don't have details on that as yet. I'll post when I find out
where and when.
Knoxville's only three hours from Atlanta and Nashville, so everyone in the area should come up if they can.

Here's the information on the lecture Shaheen will be giving before the concert:
School of Music's 2005-06 Musicology Distinguished Lecture series
continues Fri, Nov 11 with Simon Shaheen, composer and violin and oud
virtuoso. Lecture/music demo, 3 pm in 214 Music Building. Concert,
Classical and Contemporary Arabic Music from Aleppo to Cairo, 7:30 pm in
Music Hall auditorium. Co-sponsors: MARCO Institute, Dept of History,
Office of Academic Outreach and Arab-American Club of Knoxville. For more
