QWiK Tune?
Hi,
I'm new here and have a question
Can QWiK Tune be used to tune an Oud, i read alot about it being used to tune guitars?
Are there any other tools you use to tune an Oud?
Thank you,
JZ

It should work fine just make sure you get a chromatic tuner. That means it will recognize any pitch you play and not just ones used for the standard
tuning of a guitar. That should be all you need

As jason said it should work and it is very easy to tune. I am usind a KORG GT-12 Guitar/Bass Chromatic tuner. You should point it to Chromatic and it
should tune your Oud .
From butom to top = C4 G3 D3 A2 G2 D2 OR C2 I use D2 I likeit beter.
Best Regards

Thanks guys for the feedback.
I'm still planning to buy one of the unites mentioned above, but before I do I tested the AP Tuner software. It was acurate (it produced the same
note when strings are played over and over)
My Oud ended up being C2, G2, A2, D3, G3 from top to bottom, seems to work best that way.
Again, many thanks and great forum...

Hello
I'm new to the oud and have found a few downloadable tuners as shareware - I know they are not small like a portable tuner but they work fine for home
tuning. The simpler the better ... and I think they give just a rough guide as I have found that tuning is so much about how the notes resonate with
the instrument and how this resonance feels in the body (sorry I teach yoga!!) which is where the tweaking and listening and feeling comes in once a
note is found.
There's a really simple tuner on Pablo's oud page at http://www.oudpage.tripod.com/ called tuning fork.
