Pegs & Nuts

I am looking to purchase ebony tuning pegs and a bone nut for a full size Egyptian Oud.
Does anybody have an idea where a good place to order from would be?
Thanks, and warm regards.

Hi you can buy Oud pegs from http://www.lmii.com and when you get to the page of pegs they will be VIOLIN ebony pegs where it says if you buy more that 12 the price is $1.90 each.I just bought some. Best regards Samir.
For the nut you have to take the old one so they can make you one or take the whole oud to a pro so he can build you one. Thanks again..

PS when you get to the site go to search and type PEGS and then the second line where it says ebony falmenco pegs click on it and that will take you to it, It is item # PE1E .....

Thats a good site Samir. But the only thing I think is that most people use the bigger Viola pegs on there oud. not Violin pegs since they are a bit small. Make shure you go to a violin repair store and test fit there blank ebony viola pegs in order to make shure you dont have to build a new pegbox. I wanted to change the pegs on one of my ouds once and I ordered viola pegs and it turned out the pegs were too small to even fit the existing holes. You can also buy a bone nut blank there and with a small jewler saw you can make your own if you dont have the $ to take it to a pro. Just make shure the groves are even and that the strings are 1 mm away from the fingerboard. Try to make a copy of your old nut.
Regards
Samir

The pegs will have to be fitted to work properly. A peg hole reamer is necesessary, at a cost of $25-$80. They can be fitted by a violin repair shop as well. Even if the pegs are too small the holes can be plugged and re-drilled easier than making a new peg box.

Samir I already bought for 2 Ouds and they did fit perfect, one oud i got a Viola pegs and Viken fixed them for me. But these pegs are exactly like the once used on Lebanese ouds like Nazih Ghadban .They look like standart to me.But today i am geting a set of Viola pegs they are a bit real bit thicker. Thank you Samir , California
