Lark in the morning
I live in SF, Ca, lark in the morning has a shop here, i haven't bought any of their ouds, but i've played almost all of them. Last time i
went was a couple of months ago, they had 2 egyptian ouds, and 7 or 8 were turkish. I found the egyptians to be of poor quality. The turkish ouds
they had were decent, the best two they had were priced at $450 and $1100. Their ouds range from $290-$1100. from what i saw the ouds that were
under $400 were not worth their asking price.

i've been to lark in the am in san francisco. my advice is stay away. the only things there i liked were percussion and dulcimers. if
you're going to pay around 1000 for an oud, make it a great one, not just half-decent one.
that's my opinion.

I ask because I bought one a few years back from them. It is not so good. The bowl is very nice, but the rest is cheap and ugly. I had to do some
customization just to get it to play decent. Some strings still buzz, no matter how high I raise them. I think I wasted $350 on it. I wouldn't
recommend them to anyone.
