Oud Shopping

Hello all,
I'm a banjo player in Colorado, and I've recently become interested in learning to play the Oud. Of course, this means I have to find an Oud to play.

I've done alot of searching on the web and have had little luck figuring out whether an Oud is of good quality without actually seeing it in person.

Can anyone give me some guidance of where to find an Oud for a beginner? I don't want to spend too much because I'm not sure how much my interest will grow, but I would like something of enough quality that my interest isn't capped, either.

ANY advice would be greatly appreciated since I'm completely ignorant of the Oud world.

Good Quality Beginners Oud

Hi and Welcome ckhamsi :wavey:

I recommend you contact Haluk

His web site is

http://www.eraydinsazevi.com.tr/

and his e-mail address is

halukeraydin@yahoo.com

or

halukeraydin@hotmail.com

Also check this link for a feed back about his ouds for new learners.

I have bought an electric oud from Haluk - he deals with honesty and respect. His prices are too good to be true.

You can take my word for it.

There are lot of other well known oud makers in this forum but Haluk is the one known for his learners ouds.

Good luck

Kind Regards,
