ouds in Berlin?
Hi -
First-time poster...found the site through the magic of google.
I'm to be in Berlin for several weeks...because of its large Turkish population, I was wondering if anyone know of any oud shops / makers there?
Thanks in advance.

Maybe Mike (our esteemed web page owner) can put you in touch with Basem Darwisch, an Egyptian oud player who lives in Germany--a possible info
source. (Basem provided useful info to me on Cairo 6 years ago). I've heard most of the Turks in Germany (and Austria, etc.) are from central and
eastern Turkey and play more baglama than oud.
Hope that helps...
Best,
John

In Berlin there is a "Konservatorium fur Turkische Musik" (conservatori for turkish music) and director is Nuri Karademirli ,who is a virtuos and
Master of Oud .
In conservatorium they have a section of Oud-Building...maybe you could buy something from them..or you could ask them for shops with ouds etc..they
will be able to help you im sure...
They have a website too
