Length of the finger board

Does the length of the finger board make the oud sounds differently?

I mean iraqis ouds are normally 19.5 -> string lengh=58.5

while egyption ouds are 21 cm -> string lenght =60 cm

?

will that impace the sound of the oud in anyways?
I am sure playing a 19.5 finger board makes a bit easier to play; but how about the sound?

thanks

The fingerboard should be 1/3 the string length to place the 5th position at the joint of the body and neck. It has no affect on the sound, but a shorter stringlength & neck area little easier to play as the distance between position of the note is less.
The sound is produced by the face and it's structure.
