Files from TruePharoah21
Qasabji Taqsim with Friends
Here is one of those files TP21 sent me.
A taqsim for Mohamad el-Qasabji during a private sitting.
I tried enhancing the recording as much as I could.

You are absolutely right Emad. He is right up there for me. Emad, didn't you meet him or know him personally? Maybe you can tell us about that?
Many thanks to TP21 for these great files. There are more to come soon too. Thanks again Peter!

Jamil Bashir
Perhaps, one of my most favorite clips for Jamil Bashir. These guys are just having fun. Try to see if you can catch the joke in the second half of
the 5th minute.
Special thanks to zeryab.org for this file.

Playing Toota in concert... I tell you, the only thing better than listening to him play this is seeing him in concert playing it.
Special thanks to zeryab.org

Farid el-Atrache
Rare recording of what seems to be just the guys sitting around and having some fun. Taqsims on the oud (by Farid, of course), violin by Ahmed (whom
I'll assume is Ahmed el-Hifnawi), and on the qanun (no name given anywhere in the recordings). Mawwal by Farid is also present, as well as Toota.
I believe this might be from that CD, something to do with a night with the king of the oud, or something to that effect.
Special thanks to: http://www.fareedelatrash.com/vb/
Warning: File size is around 60 megs.

TP21, This rare recording of Farid is AMAZING!!!
I listen to it now by myself and it brought tears to my eyes,
mixture of sadness and joyful feeling, for talent that was once
here but gone forever.
If the term Heavenly Talented was appropriate
anywhere, this would definitely be it.
will let my father listen to it tomorrow.
i'm sure he will cherish it as much as i do.
he used to listen to many of Farid recordings
back in morocco (50s).
Thank you very much for preserving that talent.
This recording is a definite keeper.
Nate.

Just started to listen.....is it suznak ??
I liked this school...can we call it so?? Like Omar Naqishbendi style.
I feel it like an industrial hammering of notes, insisting on each note note 4-5 times, with exactly same pression, which is very hard to
reach.....
In fact even the sound of the oud is similar to the tracks which offered here in rare section....may be is a nahat ??.
Btw who is Farid Ghosn, a lubnani, a syrian??
Must be same years as Omar Naqishbendi.

Hey guys,
Does anyone still have that recording that I had posted up for Farid el-Atrache up above? The 60 megs one, just a few posts up... I'd really
appreciate it if anyone had it and could provide it again.
zshare.net apparently lets you post audio and have the file stream before you choose to download it... and can store huge files that you don't have to
wait for a minute before they start to download, like rapidshare. Just a suggestion.
Thanks,
TP21

Hi, TP21 :-)
I have it and will upload it to RS.COM or some other
file host you'll recommend.
still enjoy very much this listening to this rare recording
and would be more than happy to share it again.
I think I will clean it a bit of background
noises if that's ok with you.
the original will stay intact :-)
EDIT: alright. reducing noise either ruined the file (don't worry
i worked with a copy) or just crashed in the middle due to my
crappy system so that didn't go well. but the file is on Rapidshare now if someone would want it.
Here's the link:

Hey Mike, you're welcome, buddy.
Here's one more, from your favorite oudist. The quality's not all that great, but it's worth the listen.

Farid el-Atrache - Kol Dah Kan Leih Intro and Taqsim
Hey guys,
I have a file for Farid playing Abdel Wahab's Kol Dah Kan Leih, where Najat accompanies him in singing. Here's the intro and interspersed taqsims that
occur in the recording.
Hope you enjoy!
