Abadi el Johar ( Shehata) ..strings..

In most of the videos I have seen of Abadi el Johar. He's using a oud made by Maurice Shehata. My question is in regards to the sound he gets. Now... I know that he could probabably make anything sound good.

But shehata ouds have there own sound to them and I have recently put on D'addario to my shehata. I dont like the sound Iam getting from them at all. Verry twangy. so I want to change strings.
Question one : witch strings does Abadi use on his Shehata ouds?
Please I would apreciate if someone on the abadi forrums can get the awnser from there if possible.

Question 2 ( intended at shehata owners) : Since many people have one or have played one wich strings have given you the best sound on them.

Iam also concidering custom lute strings if Its in fact what works best. Anybody have the mesurements used for a typical shehata oud.

Thanks Samir

2 of my friends got shehata ouds and they say that the only strings that goes well with shehata ouds are Labella strings

We tried pyramid strings with them but they didn't sound nice

cheers

hello samir I talked with Morice and asked him about the strings he uses. he told me that he uses a specil orderd Labella strings that he and Ahmad Fathi has set the mesurements for, and he use them only on the best ouds that he makes you can order them form morice shehata.
the strings are expncive a little bit i bought two set of them for 400 egyptah pounds each one is 200 pounds. thats in egypt. if you whant to order them dirictlly from Labilla you can e mail Morice Shehata one his web site and ask him to send you the mesurements. wish you the best
