Thanks for the update Mike, I haven't been to Joseph's site for a while.
I was interested to see the oud he uses in the two videos - Taqasim Nahawand & Bird of Paradise.
It looks more like a Turkish oud than an Arabic one.
Regards,
Greg

Beautiful and deep playing as always from Joseph.
The oud in the Nahawand video looks like a Faruk Turunz I think. Beautiful.

I have finally met Joseph Tawadros ...
Hello everyone,
I got invited to visit Joseph at his home in Sydney. It was one great day.
Joseph is a great personality with no doubt. I was made very welcomed and at home indeed.
Joseph , James and I played some taqaseem and songs together. And Joe moved from oud to Violin to Qanun and he played them all just as good as I play
the radio
I got to play about six ouds and they all sound great.
Joe got me to watch a video of him playing "oud" along with Abdo Dagher "violin" and that was a trip to Egypt on it's own.
In my opinion, Joe plays much better in reality/on stage comapred to Cds. I guess we all feel comfortable away from microphones.
James Tawadros is a very polit young man. Very good with his Req. And he treated me to lots of drinks/food and heaps of welcoming smiles. I do not
think there is a machine to measure the speed of James fingers on the req.
Joseph played my Haluk electric oud and he seemed to like it. Any oud will sound great in his hands too of course.
This was one great experinece for me. We may meet again if I am lucky enough.
Kind Regards,
