Who Are We?
Hey everybody,
What do you all think of sharing photos of who we are? I guess I'll start us out. I think it will be a little less painful for you to see a
picture of me (if you haven't already seen me and Coo Coo the chimp) than hear me playing oud. I think it's kinda cool to be able to put the face to the name. This picture was taken of me fooling around
at Wael's place. And hey, if I'm brave enough to share a picture of my bald noggin, you should be able to share photos of yourselves too.
Take care,
Mike

No problemo!!
Mike u'll never believe I was expecting that u looked a lot different, but I like u better than what I imagined hehehe. But what's with the bald head guys? I'm kind feeling embarrased
by my hair now Ah whatever. I hope y'all will like it. Of course u will
notice in the background half of my bookshelf showing with the books I have to study in (the white Clinical Medicine I think is clear enough for
y'all to see). This is my "headquarters" in Latvia, the base of operation and secret post-midnight broadcasting of Oud recordings hehe
Hope the rest will tag in (wonder how TP looks like )... Peace!
Yours truly,
Basel

Hey guys. Gimme a few days to get a picture up. I got school these days, and amazingly enough... I have no pictures of me with an oud! It's
pretty sad, but I'll be sure to correct that soon. Mike, good idea to do this. It brings faces to the names of people we seem to talk to all the
time.

Mike and everyone,
This is a great idea. Besides seeing pictures of everyone, it would also be interesting to hear what attracted the person to the oud; what their
musical background is, i.e. did they grow up listening to traditional Middle-Eastern music, popular music (rock, jazz, etc.)? What tradition(s) are
they studying (or want to learn)? Does the person play any instruments or genres of music, etc…?
What do you guys think?
Cheers.
WmD.

Nice pictures guys. Ronny, get your picture on this thread man. We need to have more bald dudes than guys with hair. Bald is beautiful baby! No
offense Basel.
William, that's a great idea man. Let's do it. I think I've shared my background on other threads, but maybe we can have a different
forum for us to share our backgrounds and stuff on. Help me think of a good name for it, and we'll make it happen. Then we can dedicate threads
on a member of the week or something. Just some ideas. Let's expand on it guys.
Take care,
Mike

Great idea
None taken, Mike. Actually I like ur "bald noggin' " so much i can't really decide who is cuter, u or the Oud
norumba's Ouds are wonderful *drooling* and he looks very serious playing on them, and very very important. Norumba u look great.
Jameel also looks good constructing his Oud, personally I didn't expect him to have a thick beard Just don't lose that beard coz of me Jameel
As for the idea, I'm totally in, Mike I suggest u call the forum section "The Oud and I", maybe it's a bit long but it seems ok
no? If any of the guys out there has an opinion toss it in, this thing is so great it's a shame if we don't participate in it. Peace!
Yours truly,
Basel
P.S. Bald is cool, but I'm not giving up my fur matt yet hehe

i'm getting my picture up soon for this, shaved my goatee off so i wouldn't look as hairy, lol. norumba could you please e-mail me
information on the bashir oud? i would really appreciate it. basel you seem to have an amazing oud just as nice as everyone else's up here, i
think that mine is pretty basic though (it's my first one!) anyways, its how you play it that matters!!
nadir
P.S. Mike, i have to admit, you look like the happiest guy out of all of us!

SWEET!
Norumbe u got one fine girl there, and I guess the love of Oud courses her veins
just as it courses yours. May God bless you and ur family. Hopefully we'll get to hear a clip for her playing soon
Nadir, thanx for the compliment. Mine is also the first as well, and frankly I got it as a gift, so I can't say anything about how amazing it is
compared to other ouds. Anyways I love it too bad I had an accident with it
and it got broken, but I can still play it (with caution though). Anyways, get a happy image up soon, otherwise, Mike might have to stand upside down
on his head to see our frowns as smiles Peace!
Yours truly,
Basel

Great pictures guys!
Stefan, your daughter is adorable, and she has made a "wise" decision to be enamored by the oud! With a name like Sofia, it's no wonder
she's so wise.
Khalid...very cool picture man. I wish I was at that jalsa.

I have started to Make Noah an oud too.
It is smaller than the one that Sophia owns.
I hope it sounds well. Enjoy

Hi dear Oudists friend
I send to you a picture of me .
here i performed in my school:the center of music and dance from East,in Jerusalem, the Ali Jihad Racy's Samai Nahawand with a Taksim Nahawand as
prelude.
In my school Jews and Arabs are playing music together(my teatcher is Mr Samir Makhoul,a great Oud player)and the only voice here is the voice of
music and peace.
Regards.
