hi everyone,
since i broke my hand i havent been playing the oud at all so i surf the web obsessively for oud related material all the time...i came across this
video clip and it had me rolling with laughter. members of this forum who are familiar with american classic rock will recognize the tune the young
lady is playing...kind of feels like a middle school dance! enjoy!here is the link:

looks like she's playing an oud with frets - and playing it well. i kept waiting for the band (bonham, jones, plant and page) to jump in as she was
finishing the riff. more power to her!
jimmy page used some basic oud excercises on his guitar to great effect. i have a (one ... lone - just one) led zepplin-ish cd called "no quarter"
which features oud. been years since i listened to it however ...

Haha...just beware of stairway to heaven, especially if you are in a guitar shop.
I hope you heal fast Amos, sorry about your injury.

I was really surprised one day that I was able to play the guitar intro to "Money For Nothing" by Dire Straits on my tanbur. it's almost like it was
made for it.
And I'm not at all embarrassed to add that fellow board member Phaedon Sinis and I were also hacking through some Madonna tunes on ud and kanun i
think it was, about 9 months ago? Mav were you there for that?
