Hisham Al Hashim
Hi all
My Iraqi oud was made by the Hisham Al Hashim company. It is a wonderful instrument and my Iraqi tutor tells me that company provides Ouds to the
Baghdad Conservatorium? Can anyone tell me more about this company? has anyone got an oud by them?

Hi -
I just read your post, although 6 years late. I also own an Oud by Hisham al Hashim. I received it in 2003, and it was the first oud that Hisham
built in 10 years, because he was exiled into Jordan, because he was not a state sponsored artist.
I don't know if he has a factory, but as far as I know he is only an individual maker. My teacher who taught at the Baghdad Conservatory was friends
with Hisham and indicated that his ouds are considered to be the best Iraqi technical ouds that one can buy. My teacher was also exiled into Jordan.
Hisham's ouds are not considered the most beautiful, but are easy to play and have a great sound, which is why many great players chose his ouds.
