congrats to peter and kan zaman

i just wanted to say congratulations to peter and kan zaman for a superb concert last night. peter and afif were so together and spotless it was a beautiful thing to see. the way they flew through the material was just breathtaking. rare talents both of them.

thank you also to wael for putting it all together and giving us something pleasurable to listen to on a saturday night. with the incorporation of the turkish and persian acts it was a great atmosphere all around. i look forward to the next one.

Photos from the concert

No audio recording but here's a link to photos from the concert:

It was a really great concert with amazing guest performances by Sahba Motallebi on the Persian Tar, The Souls of Anatolia – a trio playing traditional Turkish music and Abboud Bashir – an amazing vocal artist from Syria. :applause:

I wish somebody posted a notice on the board before the concert so more people could have gone.
Me, for example.

Yeah, Jonathan I hear you -- Wa'el wasn't too good about letting people know -- I found out kind of last minute!

Hey everyone,

Paul, thank you for your kind words. They mean a great deal.

Lee, great pictures, man! I see you made the most out of a bad lighting situation. Lee's such a classy guy, everyone. He lets me borrow his Foad oud for the concerts, and I can't thank him enough.

Jonathan... I was actually wondering why you weren't there. We should get you on the Kan Zaman mailing list so that this doesn't happen again. Also, Lee and I were talking... maybe we should have another Oud Summit day in the coming weeks?

I'm kicking myself for not being there. If I knew, I would not have missed it.

Oud Summit. Yeah, that sounds great. I'd love to do one at my place, but if somebody else wants to, that's cool. I can rearrange some stuff so we have more room, and some better chairs for oud playing.
How about a week or two after Christmas? (Orthodox Christmas). Let's set something up so we don't keep putting it off.
