As far as I know, the only older Turkish oud maker that I know is Manolous Venios. His ouds are refered to as "Manols." A Manol player is Udi Rant
Kenkulian. There are some recordings on Mikes oudism pages of Udi Rant. If you need more information, just let me, or Mavrothis know.

Hi,
Minor correction/addition - Manolis Venios was a Greek luthier born in one of the Greek islands (I believe), who at some point moved to
Constantinople/Istanbul and there created some great instruments. Onnik Karibyan and Hadi Usta were also great makers that came a little later - each
with his own style/sound.
There are so many great old luthiers, of every ethnic background. That site (veysel.com?) has a lot of great examples of old makers' works.
Nasir, you should check out the Ud Masters double CD from Kalan.com, which has a great collection of different players' taksims over the last 70-80
years from Turkey. Very good.
