Does anyone have info on origins or example of use of this pentatonic scale: ½ 2 1 ½ 2 (c c# f g g# c)?
ps. Merry Christmas to Orthodox forum members

This scale is used in Japanese music, called kumoi-joshi. The most well-known Japanese melody, Sakura, uses only these tones.
f f g
f f g
f g g# g f gfc#
c g# c c# c cg#g etc.
Score can be seen here (in a different key)

I bet this would sound interesting on the oud.
