cleaning your oud
does anyone have suggestions on what to use for keeping your oud nice and
clean? my oud is made out of cedar and should i use guitar sting cleaner for the strings?

The best thing to keep your oud clean is to keep it in a case or cabinet when you're not playing it. Wash your hands before playing it and wear a
long sleeve shirt or cover the edge where your arm goes over the top. The finish on the back, neck and peg box can be cleaned with lemon oil, but
avoid any abraisive polishes. If the face is unfinished, don't touch it. Don't get any oil, polish or any liquid on the face. Don't
use any thing to "clean" the unfinished face. Anything you do to try to clean the face can damage it. If you use a cleaner on the strings, I
would remove them first to avoid getting any cleaner on the face.
