Clips from Joseph Tawadros' "Epiphany" CD

As promised, here are some shortened clips from Joseph's new "live" CD.

The two tracks are "Oasis" and "Café Riche."

The original "Oasis" is nearly 6 minutes and the original of "Café Riche" is a lush 8 minutes.

The CD can be purchased from:
http://www.birdland.com.au:8080/Birdland/catalogue/category634/p463...

Enjoy!

Regards,

Greg

I like it a lot. Oud marries perfectly bass. He has succeded to create a music which i feel it like placed somewhere in between jazz and middle eastern traditions.
You see, we hear often musics which are either jazz with oriental touch or viceversa, but JT is different, is somewhere in between, very personal style.

hey Joe, some pretty hot stuff there. Caught me off guard when Cafe Riche 'split 2' kicked in! :airguitar:¬
I've heard the 'Cafe Riche split 1' version, and It's one of the nicest pieces of modern oud music I've heard in this style, a beautiful melodic opening line on oud complemented with the other musicians joining in.
I agree with Zalzal, it is about a good a combination of contemporary jazz and oud you can get. Are you using your 'JT' special by Faruk?
You've got it man, the talent to be able to play this sort of modern oud as well as play in the more traditional styles.
Follow your heart and dreams. best wishes, MW

A whole lot of Thanks Mathew.
This album was very special for me. It was all recorded live in concert in one take and it was really emjoyable.
My approach in when it comes to collaborating with artists from different backgrounds is very important. You have to sbe very selective and choose musicians who are willing to learn about where you come from and Im willing to learn about where they come musically so you can create one language together which does not sound corny or foreign. Alot of collaborations unfortunately usually have two musical languages running at the same time, this tends to not work as well and the understanding is just not there between musicians. As for this recording, it was before I had the JT Turunz model and it was recorded on a 6 string Shehata oud.

All the best my friend,

JT
