Folks can you please help identify this oud




Hi all,

The oud is on ebay, auctioned as an Arabic oud, to me it doesn't look Arabic, can you elaporate please?

Judging by the rosettes, it looks like a Sabri Ender oud. I believe he's from Ankara.

be carefull because many of those rosettes are wholesale made and used by many makers.

but anyways for sure its turkish. looks nice too. ask for a sound sample and see if you like it.

ask for a picture of the action where the neck meets the body.

Salam akhi, yes it looks nice but as you said ones cannot be sure about ebay sellers. the seller is about 45 miles drive I'm planing to pay him a visit and check it out myself.

Can you please gave the string length of your oud. In Arab ouds string length is usually greater than 58.5 cm. Classic Turkish ouds have strictly 58.5 cm string length. Maybe this can be a clue for you.
