My New Shehata!
i just wanted to say Thanks to Mike, This Forum and Mr. Shehata for my new oud and all the help!!
i've had my Shehata for 2 days now and i'm lovin' it more and more.
i had a Sandi about 9 months ago that was stolen when i moved and have been without an oud since.
The Sandi was a very nice oud !!.........but i wanted something i could get a deeper tone from , so........i went with the Shehata and i'm very glad i
did!!!!
After reading some of the Horror Stories here about shipping damage and the likes..............i was starting to get a little nervous...................BUT it arrived safe and sound.
i'll post some pics........
Thanks again Mike!!!...........and tell Mr. Shehata i love the oud!

Congratulations rromadoud,
that's surely a nice piece of artwork.
Could you kinldy tell us about the dimensions of the oud and sound quality?
If you can post some sound clips of it that would be wonderful.
Play it long with good health

My pleasure. I'll pass on to Mo that the oud arrived safe and sound and you are very happy with it. I really like the bowl on that oud. I think the
walnut palisander combo is very nice.
Take care,
Mike

Thanks MatthewW.........!...........i will
Hi damascene_oud,
Thanks!
The sound with the high "F" tuning is big, warm, yet with a nice high timbre to it. i'm going to switch the tuning to incorporate the low "C" so, i'm
sure that will change it some.
It has great sustain and is very easy to play...........the overall sound quality is great !
And the oud it's self is incredibly light!!! You can really feel it vibrate against you when you hit the strings hard..........i personally like
that......
Well.............the measurements i took with the only ruler i could find laying around is in "Inches"...........so you'll have to convert them to
"Metric" if you want...............i know it's easy but, i'm to lazy right now )...............
Nut to Bridge - approx. 25 inches
Body width - approx. 15 inches
Body Length - approx. 21 inches
Body Depth - approx. 7 inches
Headstock - approx. 10 inches
these are just quick measurements and not precise or anything!!
i'll be posting some sound samples soon, but i want to get it strung up with new strings and get a little practice in first.
i'm a little rusty!!.......
Peace & Blessings to you All,
~RromaDoud~

Yeah.......me too..........it's one of the things that got my attention in the first place................i also like the simple "Earthy" looks it has.
It's very "Warm" looking.
Later bro!
