I'm certain people within Cairo know about this, but I just learned about it.

Apparently, Abdul Men'em El-Sawy - a writer - bought this wasteland from the goverment and turned it into a theater, and more.

I can only ask you to look at the Music events in http://www.culturewheel.com/English/MainActivities/Music/MusicMain_...

And the website ... it's functional in both Arabic and English (I haven't tried the other languages, but it looks like they're working .. )

This is definitely on my list in my next visit.

We went to a couple of great shows there in November. There are two theaters. Really nice setup! Wish I could go see Nasseer Shamma tomorrow night...
