The Roland JC120 (Jazz Chorus 120 Watts) is an open backed amp and open backed amps feed back less than closed back ones. It has a chorus effect in it
that is wonderful but the main thing about it is that it sounds big and huge without feeding back. And they are everywhere so they can be rented. Some
people say that it's not totally natural sounding for an oud or saz but the sound it gets is big, warm, and hypnotic and still the best thing going
when playing with a band. You can find the good old ones for about $400. The last one I bought I paid $250. for in Germany. The thing to look for is a
chrome on/off switch not the plastic one. D.L.
