Oud Shipping
Hi! My teacher in Jordan is trying to send an oud that he got for me by FedEx. They quoted a price of $385 for shipping! DHL was also expensive at
$312.
Can anyone give me suggestions on alternative methods of shipping? I suggested perhaps regular post, but I am worried about the fragility of the
instrument.

I had my last oud shipped from Jordan via TNT (http://www.tnt.com), cost around $200. What city is he shipping from?

I've had bettter luck and much cheaper rates with the Post office. FedEx ran a fork lift through an oud carton and reneged on their insurance. UPS has
done damage in the past. DHL tries a little harder as they are in 3rd place. I recently shiiped an oud to Japan through the USPS for $35. It's the
packing that determines damage maore than the carrier.
