Bint el Shalabiyya algerian tv 1 mandol + 3 oudists
The poster of the clip forgot to tag it with the word oud.
After the algerian mandol player, three other oudists plays taqsims on the Bint el Shalabiya song.
The last part of the song is not Bint el Shalabiya, it is another very known song i believen, but i can not remember the name.
I can not recognize the players.
Could it be the Muscat oud festival??
Is one of the players Mandouh el Gebaly playing a Shehata oud ??
Is the other one Charbel Rouhana.

modathir playing the shehata is the last player.
the one right before him is Charbel Rouhana playing his fadi matta oud.
then in the middle is omar bashir playing his fadel.
I believe could be Nasser el houari ( but Iam not sure at all) he is playing a abdo dagher oud.

The mandol player is the first man in white suit? It is difficult to see, but I thought mandol has frets? And somehow I thought it would have metal
strings, because of the mandolin family ancestry, but it sounds so oud-like. Nylon strings?
Again, I don´t know if this is because of the unclear video, but do some of the oud players really play ouds with single strings, not double
courses?
Thanks for an interesting clip!

AbdelQader in the last part ( I think!...) very popular song indeed. This video is a magic & precious moment.
Does a cd or a dvd exist?

Thank you Zou.
Also notice the pickguard of the mandol, is the geoghraphical drawing of Algeria. Almost all mandols, which is a true 100 %algerian instrument, have
this feature. This is because mandol is the instrument of chaabi music, popular derivation of classical araboandalouse music. The chaabi accompanied
the algerian liberation war fm french colonialism. Tahya al Djazair !!!
Arto and Sazi, the strings of the other ouds are all doubled. I am very sure, it is because the bad quality of the image that they look single. In
fact even the bass courses are doubled, like the others.
The mandol player, Mohammed Rouane, as confirmed by Zou, is the first man in white suite and he is playing a fretted mandol; all mandols are fretted,
as far as i know.
Thank you Gilgamesh, I think this was part of a Muscat oud festival, there is a big M in the lightings, but i do not know. I would also love to get a
full video of all the performances.
And you are right, the last part is Abd el Qadir, of course, the great song of Chab khaled.
Tahya al Djazair !!!

the people in the crowd are wearing what is called a 3egal. it can be found in saudi arabia and the emirates.
you dont find much of those in 3oman since the traditional wear is different. More like this picture.
but you never know... maybe they are just showing the saudi contingent.
thank you for sharing this wonderfull video.
Great playing.
