Ali Khalifeh & Sons oud
Hi Everyone,
This oud is for sale near me - and there aren't so many on the market in New Zealand! I haven't been able to see it and have only seen the pics.
Advice please.
Would this be by Ali Khalifeh of Damascus or his nephew? It has the binding running all the way up the neck which may suggest Ali, but the soundhole
decorations and the shiny bridge are putting me off - as are the tuning pegs and wood grain on the ribs. But I want it to be a good one!
Can anyone help translate the luthiers label? (see pic in post down the page)
Regards,
Chris

Hi ChrisOud- are you asking how to attach a photo to your posting? It ought to be fairly straightfowad- I assume your photo is somewhere in your
computer in a nice folder, so when you are ready to upload it, go to your last posting and select 'edit'. (unless you want to make a new posting)
Then look at the bottom section of your posting, under the 4 boxes that say 'disable smiles', 'use signature' ,etc.
Under these 4 boxes you'll see a gray shaded box that says 'Browse'.
Click this box, and you'll then get a drop down box and prompted to look for your photo in whatever folder or part of your computer it is stored in.
Once you locate the photo, select it, then click on 'open' in the 'filename' line of the drop-down box.
Once you have done this, the drop down box will vanish and you'll see that the photo is now selected ( ie. C:\.....) and in the rectangular box next
to the gray shaded 'Browse' box!(You can edit you message here if you wish as well as add the photo) Now just continue and post it, it will take care
of itself, inshallah!

Apparently the soundhole decorations are plastic (and obviously a treble clef) so I'm guessing this is a 'tourist' grade oud. Attached is a pic of the
makers label.
I can't read Arabic script. Any ideas of what it says, when the was made, likely quality?

It looks like a beautifully made Oud, I like the soundboard and the simple design.
Is playing the Oud comfortable? I see the strings taking an angle away from the board, or it could be the camera angle.
Nice Oud indeed
My Oud sucks, seriously.. It\'s made by \"Mohammed Adil\"
