this is not salmeen oregenal shop
its jawharat salmeen
salmeen shop close befor 7 month becose his owner has died essa salmeen
this shop for essa brother yosef salmeen ( Jawharat salmeen )
and the turkish oud maker left to turky in 2003 i think and come mahamad alhsamy from egypt
and when the shop close he went to his brother yosef salmeen and work in his work shop jawharat salmeen
its not the femos salmeen shop becose in kuwait there are two shops have the same name but not the same makers Salmeen shop and Jawharat salmeen shop

but they left kuwait befor 6 years i think and didnt come back to kuwait

Interesting video SamirCanada,

I kinda disagree though with one of the statments Yousif Salmeen made that the late Farid Atrash was the one who added the 6th string (pair) to the oud, simply because Farid always played the 5 course oud, and I don't think I've ever seen him play a 6 course oud at all.

I love the old Salmeen ouds.........unique for their shallow bowl depth and skewed base, and superb sound quality.....(especially those of the late Issa Salmeen, who passed away recently as Jassim pointed out)....really nice !

Hey by the way !! I hear my oud playing in the background of that video clip ! (Ya msafir wahdak and Ana Bintizarak) :)
