Wow Mensur,
The is the BEST way I've heard this song approached yet... Adding the guitar really mellows the song and makes it so much smoother and prettier...

Oud and guitar can work really well together, the cd of George Mgrdichian (who sadly died last year) 'George Mgrdichian on the Oud' with Menachem
Dworman on guitar is a great example.
