D'Adarrio strings are up
http://www.khalafoud.com/daddario.htm
As announced a couple weeks ago, I'm now offering D'Adarrio strings.
Not only the J95 set, but also individual strings in several gauges. So if you have a broken string, want to change out a course for something heavier
or lighter, or assemble an entire set to your own specs, you can order easily through my website
I should mention here, despite some of the criticisms that some have of these strings, that I've been using these single D'Addario strings for some
time with excellent results. The single strings are the very same material as D'Adarrio's Pro Arte classical guitar strings. The Pro Arte strings are
the best selling classical guitar strings in the world, and are preferred by lots of the top players, like the Assad Duo and David Russell. So for
those who consider Pyramid lute strings to be the ultimate strings for oud, I invite you to try out these D'Adarrio nylon strings and see how they
perform. I think, especially for the price difference, that you will be pleasantly surprised.
My first shipment of D'Adarrio strings will arrive this week. I'll be shipping all new orders before the weekend.
Cheers,
Jameel
One more thing...
I'll also be assembling a detailed tension chart for each of the D'Adarrio single strings, to make it easy to see just what tension each string will
give at a certain tuning and scale length. In fact, if there is someone that's good with some basic mathematical formulas that would like to help me
out with this, please drop me an email. I'll be glad to give you some free strings or picks in exchange. You'd also be doing the oud world a big
favor!

I like playing with spreadsheets and a Maths Graduate. (Bristol 1874)
Perhaps you could let me have a look at the figures you've got. I'll let you know straight away if it's too hard for my poor old brain.

Thanks to katakofka and Patheslip for helping me with the D'Addario single tension table. It's now up at my website on the D'Addario page.
It gives the tensions of strings for all the notes in the scale (in case you use an unusual tuning), at whole-number scale lengths (averaging the
other scales like 61.5cm is easy enough to do in your head). The tension range for each group of notes is from the low 20's to the high 30's, in
Newtons (the scale is in Newtons, lbs. and kg's). That should cover 99% of everybody's tastes. For other strings, I'll be putting up a formula for
those who are really finicky.
And for those who are lazy (I feel your pain)) here is a direct link to the
table.

Jameel, the big thanks goes for you. By bringing customs Daddario strings you did a big favour for all of us for the little money the custom sets is
going to cost.
Wish you all the best with this move

Could someone suggest a set(gauges) for Arabic tunning
( 1st-C, 2nd-G, 3rd-D , 4th-A, 5th-F or G )
which is in my language :
(1st- Do, 2nd- Sol, 3rd- Re , 4th- La, 5th-Fa or Sol )
Can any one suggest me or recomand the gauges you used ,or you think they work
nicely for arabic standard tuning ?
Or that will be great if Mr. khalaf could create a package for sale including what
he thinks is good for arabic tuning too, As well as selling them individually.
Thanks
