Many interesting concerts during October-November in Montreal this year. Charbel Ruhaana on the 1st of November, omar Bashir on the 8th, and many
others cultural events.
Check that http://www.festivalarabe.com/

oh nice!
will you make it down?
who is interested in coming down for the events?
I think this could be a nice event to use as an excuse to get together
katakofta,
by the way we ended up having quite a party at Al-Dar the last time.
I have some videos of the event i will post them shortly when I get them from my friend.

hey hey, nice to hear that you had a good time at Al-Dar. Looking forward to seeing the videos.
I'll be in Montreal at the end of this month to see on the first of November Charbel's concert. I can't stay more to assist to Bashir's concert
Is anyone interested in a gather with Charbel? probably we can make it on Sunday the 2d of November depending on how many people are interested.

Yes Samir I'll call him to see what's his schedule during his visit to Montreal. I'll keep you informed and if it's feasible we open a new thread.

Hi Katakofta, It'd definitely be a great occasion to share some time with Charbel Rouhana. We're in, me and a oud teacher friend of mine.
thanks and shlama to all

It seems it's unfeasible to meet with Charbel on the 2d of November. He is taking the plane early on that day, but probably we can see him after the
concert

Tarik & Julia Banzi, Al Andalus Ensemble at FMA
Hi,
Just joined the forum today and saw this posting about the Festival du Monde Arabe du Montreal. Love the synrinicity :-)
Hope you can catch our performance at the festival
Concert, oud, flamenco guitar, ney, song, flamenco & Andalusian dance on October 31
Will also be doing an academic presentation with video & slides titled "Women's Andalusian Ensembles: Seven Hundred Years of Silence". I perhaps
will post a description of the paper in another posting.
Also, we will be doing our interactive childrens program "From Baghdad to Cordoba" that traces the journey of the oud to its transformation to the
guitar... It is a rich program.
Hope to see you there.
Kindest regards,
