To make my cittern, the luthier checked medieval pandore schemes. (The portuguese guitar is the last instrument closed to the pandores, which have been the first flat back and wire stringed long neck lutes in medieval time.). When watching the clip, I feel like if I have a walk inside my instrument. But with a 60 cm scale lenght it could be 12m long in this case.
The same work with an oud would surely look like a old big boat, a gallion, a Christopher Colomb caravelle. One is under construction in Rochefort, near La Rochelle, since five years. His name is l'Hermione......giant oud with oak trees braces!!!
Nice video, thanks Leon!
