I finally bought an oud!.
I did something the forum usually disapproves, that was to buy one of those cheap ouds ($250) with a minor defect from ebay.
The oud survived the shipping and corresponds to what was announced. It stays in tune and the sound I think it is average for a beginner’s oud.
After so many years of playing the guitar I was expecting a much difficult adaptation (one of the reasons I choose a cheap one); but in fact it was
not at all that difficult.
I have been playing for 2 weeks now and I really have been enjoying it very much. Thanks to this forum I was able to choose from so different styles
(Turkish, Arabic, etc,) and start playing so beautiful pieces.
I am looking forward to post my first sound experiments and to read your comments.
