I think it's gorgeous. There were some comments in the thread above about the name, but I think it's a translation issue. By 'Oud de l'annee' he meant
he was making himself one special oud each year. Not that he was awarding himself the prize for the best oud made anywhere in the world that year.
Strange though, as it's now l'oud de l'anee derniere, and no replacement in sight.
Beautiful craftsmanship though.

I saw the Joubran brothers play in Montréal and it was amazing. They bring their music to a higher level by communicating so deeply together without
even looking at each other, I was truly impressed. And the sound and beauty of Wissam's ouds is incredible, he truly is a master oud maker and player.
I can't wait to get one of his instrument.
