Pictures needed.
As a lot of you know, I have a website of Armenian oud makers (http://www.varjouds.com).
It profiles about 75 different luthiers of Armenian extraction, regardless of where they resided. I am always on the lookout for more luthiers to
add to the list, and, just as importantly, pictures of representative ouds.
The site is coming along fairly well. For Karibyan, for example, there are pictures of 10 of his ouds, ranging from the 1920s until 1976, with
pictures of the absolute last oud that he made.
But, it's not just pictures of Karibyans that I need--I'm looking for pictures of ouds by even the obscure guys. And, I know, the workmanship can
range from brilliant (Karibyan, for example), to, well, a bit more homemade (the Kazanjian that was made in the Bronx in the 1930s, for example).
So, if the guy who made your oud has a last name that ends in -ian or yan, odds are pretty good that I would love to add a picture of the oud to my
website. I can do it anonymously, or with your name, or a link to your website.
