Playing around in nahawand

Hi everyone. Here's a recording of some taqasim I randomly did in nahawand. Feel free to comment and suggest improvements. I appologize for the mic on my laptop: it isn't all that great and has some sort of noise gate that fades out sound below some arbitrary volume.

Nice playing ameer !

Your oud is tuned one half step below the standard c g D AA FF CC, isn't it ? (your tonic is BB...)

Sounds good. The tone is nice. Intonation needs a little work in places. The most obvious thing if the oud is solo, is that the traditional expectation is for the risha to "rock" on the rhythm all the time, rather than breaking and restarting. So, for what it's worth, I'd try to "start the risha up" like a wind-up, then keep it going, as if the right hand couldn't help moving, even when it's off the strings? Where the risha does tremolo or Farid-picking, maybe the picking should be like a multiple of the base "rocking"?

Wow. I didn't know anyone had noticed this.
Yes, I tuned down a halfstep at the time; I've since tuned down another halfstep so my first course is now A#. I'm influenced mostly by Farid but am branching out and trying to learn different little things for different occasions. I've been practicing daily since then; I'll have to put up another recording.
