A friend of mine is selling his Moroccan oud, bought there from a working player. It sounds fine to me: nice and clear, good action, tunes easily and
stays in tune. It's been tensioned up for a few years and nothing has gone wrong. Very simple appearance, rather like this:

No rosettes, but also no maker's label inside. That seems a bit odd. What does it imply, if anything?
I'm still rather attached to my old Syrian oud - darker and murkier sound with a lot more quirks but I've come to like its idiosyncrasies. Do I need
two? I dunno.

If it sounds good, then why not!
But, what's unique about Moroccan Ouds in general? Do they have different tuning or scale?

It's unusually plain. The soundboard has been varnished, which I wouldn't have expected in something as spartan and functional. There isn't anything
otherwise distinctive about the design.
