Salam Fellow Udis,
I am posting a photo of a coffee mug I bought yesterday at the local Persian market. It has a setar and quote of some Sufi-esque (?) saying. The store owner couldn't really translate it. Does anyone want to try to translate to English?
Mamnoon,
"Udi" John

It's a ghazal by Sa'eb Tabrizi, but I know of no English translation for it, nor am I competent to translate 17th-century Persian myself, I'm afraid.

Hi John
This is the best translation my wife could do
,( that wood who became an ax wasn't from us Whoever break us, we become music instrument)
I hope this helps

Jawad
