im curious as to what i should do with my oud when im not playing, i live on the east coast of the US and its getting pretty hot now and im not sure
whether i should keep it inside it's hard case, soft case, or just leave it out. Thanks

i am no expert but I always keep my oud in its hard case, i added some insulation under felt to make a bit more safer against weather

In the case is good, but keep the case out of hot spots like direct sun, heaters and car trunks. If your oud was built with synthetic glues, they can
melt at 135 degrees, and a car trunk can reach up to 160 degrees. Humidity can also affect the glue joint integrity by swelling the wood with extra
moisture. Keep a humidifier in the case or collect some silica bags from your sneaker boxes and put them in the case somewhere, but not in contact
with the oud.
